Chess in Education Programs
Chess in Education – US (CIE-US) programs impact students by helping teachers use chess in the classroom as an educational tool. Teacher-driven and classroom oriented, we provide field-tested resources and ongoing support to help schools create chess in education programs that promote academic and 21st Century skills.
Program Offerings
- Courses – Professional development courses and certification for administrators and teachers on the topic of chess in education.
- CIE Programs – For schools and school systems wishing to implement a best practice CIE program and become self-sufficient within three years. Programs are modeled after the Alabama Chess in Schools and European Chess Union training programs. An example of a one-year program customization with its own CIE-managed website is Granite Gambit, implemented for the New Hampshire Department of Education in 2021.
